About BE A BLESSING

BE A BLESSING is a project aimed at exposing individuals to seeing the needs and plight of Internally Displaced women and children from the North/ Eastern Region of Nigeria and as a result intentionally open their hearts to feel the need and move towards meeting the need no matter how small.

Vision

To inspire and motivate individuals towards engaging their passion to be the one who makes a difference by meeting the needs of women and children that are IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons).

Current Project

The aggressive terrorist attacks in the North/ East Region of Nigeria has left a large number of women and children widowed, orphaned and internally displaced. There exist over 300 children that are internally displaced. This project is meant to motivate individuals to contribute towards meeting the basic needs of three widows and 130 of the internally displaced children.

Mary was a tailor in their home town of Damaturu, Yobe State. She does not have a sewing machine or adequate space for her to even practice from home. She presently works for a friend that does petty trade selling perishable vegetables and soup ingredients. Her children all attend the public government school.

MARY

In Maiduguri, Helen was a tailor, but she now lives as a refugee in Jos with no steady job or income. She has been unable to raise money to set up her business again. She works from home, which is small and cramped and barely functional for the 4 of them to live in.
